Worship

We worship every Sunday at 10:30 AM in the Anglican tradition from the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer, gathering us into unity of prayer despite our many backgrounds and opinions. Rooted in the ancient rites of the Christian church and informed by great theologians and thinkers throughout our history, our worship style is one where Catholics, Protestants, Traditionalists, and Progressives can come together to offer praise and thanksgiving to God, and recharge their spiritual batteries for the coming week.

What to Expect

When you enter the church, help yourself to a bulletin (what our priest keeps calling the “service leaflet”). It contains prompts, page numbers, and announcements to make it easy to follow and participate in the service. A black Book of Common Prayer has additional information, especially the prayers that shape our faith, and even a a statement of beliefs at the back (also called a “catechism”).

Sit where you like and make yourself comfortable. We typically celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday, and you are welcome to participate. If you have not been baptized, please let us know so we can arrange it.

Your child is welcome in worship!

There is a soft space at the front of the church to help little ones feel at home.

Music

Beautiful music is an important part of our worship life. Musicians and singers of all levels of experience can use their passion and talents to lead the congregation in praising God through song.

At St. Peter’s we use traditional sacred music to help congregants to interpret the spoken liturgy. Our music is strongly founded on congregational singing, using hymn selections from Hymnal 1982 & Lift Every Voice and Sing II.

Stephen Rose leads music at weekly worship services. Stephen studied sacred organ music from a young age, and is blessed to share his talents with the St Peter’s community.
